Mounir Meddeb is lawyer at the Paris Bar and the founder of Energie-legal, a French law firm dedicated to energy sector. Mounir is a recognised expert in energy law and has extensive experience spanning more than 15 years in France, Europe and Africa. Mounir advises domestic and foreign energy market players (utilities, investment funds, banks, industrial and services companies and public entities) in transactions, investments, contracts, regulatory issues in power and gas sectors with an emphasis on renewables projects (photovoltaic/solar, wind farms, CHP, biomass/biogas, geothermal and hydraulic). Having worked at the French Energy Regulatory Authority, the independent administrative body in charge of regulating the French electricity and gas markets, Mounir Meddeb has a deep knowledge of the regulatory issues relating to electricity and gas infrastructure and of energy projects. Subsequently, he joined Ashurst’s energy team in Paris where he supported the development of the energy business. Mounir has a doctorate in regulation and competition law. He is a lecturer at the University of Toulouse where he leads courses relating to regulation and energy law, and he is also the author of several publications in law reviews that relate to energy and renewables issues. In 2017, Energie-legal was namedas the rising team in the energy and mining category at the Trophées du Droit awards.
